Lakeside Aquathlon

The Lakeside Aquathlon is a very popular season opener, particularly amongst the kids of the North East. This year’s Spring event is on April 7th (next weekend!).

We are still desperate for volunteers to help ensure the event runs smoothly (and runs at all). It would be greatly appreciated if you, our members, could help out. In particular we are still in need of a first aider as our usual cover is not available.

Club Kit

A number of people have been in contact regarding availability of Tyne Triathlon Branded kit (both race kit and casual kit).

We are currently working with Pactimo to provide new race kit, but in order to assess demand we need you to go to the club Facebook page and vote on the poll: https://www.facebook.com/groups/133595343384615/

We will have a new design on all race kit, and need to hit minimum orders of 5 per garment (per gender) to be able to order anything.

Race Results

This past week has seen several Tyne Triathlon Members racing:

First up was Steve Addison at the Newcastle University Past vs Present Duathlon. Despite a strong bike leg he was no match for the students on the off road run sections, finishing 8th of 25. The students also took the overall win…this year!

On Sunday we had both Rob Lambert and Rachael Wainright racing at SunCity and Carlisle duathlons respectively.

Rob came home in 4th place in his category, continuing his rapid transition from runner to multi-sport athlete having already raced at the Bedford duathlon this season.

Rachel returned to Carlisle; a nice little event and great cakes in her words! Apart from the 40MPH winds Rachel had a great time. Official results don’t seem to be available yet.
