The Committee

Chairman: Steve Addison

Steve got into triathlon in 2012 at university where he was one of the founding members of the Newcastle University Triathlon team. Upon leaving university he joined Tyne Triathlon and has competed in sprint to iron-distance triathlons, pulling on the GB AG Trisuit on two occasions.

Secretary/Swim Coach: Margarita Grigoriadi

Margarita has been coaching the Fenham swim sessions on a Monday and Friday for the few years. She has been involved in triathlon for many years and has recently branched out into SwimRun and ultra running! She also has her own business (Fitness Lab PT) through which Tyne Triathlon Club members qualify for discounted rates (ask Margarita directly for details).

Club Captain: Arabella Arnott

Bella can usually be found on the podium of local triathlon races, or in her GB kit. If she isn’t found in either of these places then just keep an eye out for the brightest kit in sight…it’s usually neon pink!

Treasurer: John Davis

John has been a member of Tyne Tri for about 5 years and came to triathlon after many years of club running. So far he has only completed sprint distance events but intends to complete at least one standard distance race…probably!

Welfare Officer: Angela Mason

After a successful running career, Angela turned to Triathlon in 2012 and has enjoyed competing in Sprint Triathlons, occasionally gaining a spot on the podium.

Events Organiser: Chris Pearce

Chris has only been a triathlete (or athlete for that matter) since 2014 when the ill-fated “Newcastle Triathlon” caught his attention. Prior to training for this he wasn’t particularly sporty, couldn’t swim, didn’t run and just biked to work. Since then he has transformed into the triathlete he is today!

Honourary Mention: David Bell

Despite no longer holding an official committee position Dave deserves a special mention. Without him at the helm it is quite possible we wouldn’t have a club today. If you ever have a question about the club that none of the others can answer, Dave is likely the man to ask!
