Tyne Triathlon Trip Away 31/05/19 — 02/06/19
After the success of last year’s Tyne Triathlon tip to the Lake District we are planning another trip, this time to recce the IRONMAN UK bike course. The plan is to camp south of Pennington Flash and do one loop of the bike course.

Kit Window is now OPEN!
Having reviewed the feedback from our Facebook poll, along with the options we have opted to remain with our current kit supplier — ProVision.
The kit window is open immediately until the 1st June. Remember nothing will be ordered unless we meet the minimum of 10 qualifying items as a club; a lot of people have been enquiring about kit so this shouldn’t be an issue.
Casual kit (hoodies, tracksuit bottoms, etc) will be available for order separately soon.
The club kit shop can be found here, login details:

PhD Study Recruitment
The study aims to determine the causes of exercise-induced fatigue in ‘trained’ females (aged 18-40). Preliminary data shows that females are more resistant to fatigue compared to males, but we want to find out why. To do so, we’re taking physiological measurements before, during , and after high intensity cycling based around specific metabolic thresholds (e.g. lactate threshold, critical power, functional threshold power). The study involves six visits to the lab (1-2 hours per visit), involving high-intensity cycling, with a variety of physiological recordings taken before, during and after. Unfortunately we can’t offer any financial compensation for taking apart, but we can provide you with a comprehensive report about your data, including exercise intensity zones, training recommendations, etc.
If you’re interested in taking part, please email paul.ansdell@northumbria.ac.uk and he’ll provide further information.
