As the Christmas dinners settle and we start to think about our New Year’s resolutions here is a look ahead to triathlon in the North East in 2018:

First up is the Tyne Triathlon Club AGM. This is the members chance to help decide the direction the club takes, confirming the new (or returning) committee members along with other club business such as the financial situation of the club. The AGM has slipped later and later in previous years, but 2018 will see it return to the start of the year, being held on February 7th with a 7pm start at the Brandling  Arms pub on Gosforth High Street.

After the AGM has been held club fees will be due for the 2018 year. Subs can be paid online here. Prices may go up after the AGM so join now to guarantee the £30 current fee!

Perhaps the next most important thing for the club is the return of our Lakeside Aquathlon events. These are due to be held in April and September, so watch this space for more information. As in previous years these events are instrumental in keeping the club afloat so support from members and non members is hugely appreciated in any capacity (volunteering, racing, spreading the word etc). These will be held on April 15th and September 16th. More information will be posted here in due course.

Next up is the return of the North East Triathlon Grand Prix series. This is a series that awards consistency, taking athletes 5 best race results across the series. Full details, and event dates can be found by clicking the link.

The National Team Relay Championships are usually held on the August bank holiday. This is a great event during which we usually enter a few teams and camp on site the night before and after. This is a greta opportunity to meet other team members! Further details and a roll call will occur later in the year when the event is confirmed.
